When cutting thin plates, fiber metal laser cutting machines are faster because their beams are more concentrated and smaller. When cutting material thickness up to 6mm, the cutting speed of 1.5kW fiber laser cutting system is equivalent to the cutting speed of 3kW CO2 laser cutting system.
